Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman - Founder

Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, the founder and chairman of The Superior Group and Superior University Lahore, isn’t just a leader—he’s a visionary whose heart beats for the future of education in Pakistan. His passion for teaching and shaping the next generation goes beyond books and lectures. With a focus on innovation, Dr. Rehman has brought pioneering initiatives like Aviation Technology and Entrepreneurship to the forefront. Superior’s Journey: A Legacy of Excellence

In the year 2000, as the world stepped into a new millennium, the South Asian Educational Promotion Network (SAEPN) established the Superior Group of Colleges. This visionary initiative was led by Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman under the patronage of Late Malik Meraj Khalid (Former Prime Minister of Pakistan).

The first campus was launched at 31-Tipu Block, New Garden Town, Lahore, with an initial enrollment of 1,000 students in the very first year. The next year, the number doubled, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey toward academic excellence.

Recognitions and Growth (2001 - 2004)

  • 2001: Acquired a new campus to launch BSc (Hons) in Computer Science.
  • 2002: Applied for Degree Awarding Status after fulfilling government requirements.
  • 2003: The Government of Punjab granted an NOC for the institution.
  • 2004: On February 22, the Punjab Cabinet approved the Degree Awarding Charter for Superior.

Expansion and Innovation (2005 - 2009)

  • 2005: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) upgraded Superior to 'W' category.
  • 2007: Superior expanded by opening campuses in Faisalabad, Okara, Multan, and Rahim Yar Khan.
  • 2008: The Sargodha Campus was launched and became a massive success.
  • 2009: The Sialkot Campus was inaugurated, marking another milestone in the Superior legacy.

Becoming an International Standard Institution (2010 - 2011)

  • 2010:
    • Launched the Chaudhry Muhammad Akram Centre for Entrepreneurship to promote entrepreneurship among youth.
    • Organized Superior’s First Job Fair, with over 25,000 applicants and 70 national & international companies.
    • Introduced the Superior Split Degree Program, allowing students to gain international exposure.
    • Launched the Gujranwala Campus.
    • Introduced BS Electrical Engineering, approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
    • Signed an MoU with Uppsala University, Sweden, for student, faculty, and research exchange programs.
  • 2011:
    • Established Azra Naheed Medical College (named after the Chairman’s late mother), approved by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC).
    • Launched Chaudhry Muhammad Akram Research Hospital to serve the local community.
    • Opened 12 new campuses across Punjab.
    • Signed MoUs with Beihang University (China) and University of Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore (Italy) for academic collaborations.
    • Launched Daily Nai Baat, a newspaper dedicated to providing reliable news for informed decision-making.

Strengthening the Future (2012 & Beyond)

  • 2012:
    • Student enrollment reached 500,000 across 50 campuses.
    • Alumni network expanded to 50,000 graduates.
    • Introduced the Superior Grammar School & Spirit School System.
    • Hosted Superior’s 2nd Convocation, awarding degrees to numerous students.

Superior Today: Leading with Innovation
